2018

As 2018 enters its final month it is time again for me to reflect on the past 12 months and plan for 2019. 2018 has been a busy year for me. I have been to three weddings, two Stag weekends, moved to a new house and changed jobs. Where 2017 was a year of extreme change, 2018 has been a year of relative stability. Mentally I have been the most stable of my adult life. No major relapses with mental illness, a year of steady progress with my exercise programmes as well as reconnecting with friends I had lost contact with.
Looking forward to 2019, I plan on continuing my progress with defeating mental illness, or at the very least keeping it at bay. As a country 2019 brings the challenges of leaving the European Union. I have seen Remain voters on my Facebook newsfeed who seem determined to belittle people who voted leave and make them feel stupid, simply to make themselves feel better. I myself will never intentionally belittle anybody who holds different views to me. Keep in mind that just because somebody is wrong, it doesn’t mean you are correct. For me it is much more important to respect other people’s opinions even if I don’t agree with them.
As well as continuing my fight with mental illness, my main goals for 2019 are:
• Fly out to Barcelona at least once to visit my older sister.
• Reduce my credit card debt by 50%.
• Complete at least one new training course at work.
• Increase my social activities to help improve my mental and physical health.
Now that I have written down my main goals for 2019, I have the rest of 2018 to work out how I am going to achieve them.
